Hedge Bot: Every Setting Explained | Wick Hunter14:48 · Watch on YouTube ↗The Hedge Bot attaches to a position you already have. When price moves against it by a distance you choose, it opens an opposite-side trade (a tranche) on the same pair. It never opens the first trade and never picks a pair.
It works on USDT perpetual futures and nothing else, and needs an account in Hedge Mode. Spot, coin-margined, USDC perpetuals: no hedge mode exists there, so they are never attached.
The one setting everyone misreads
Size % is the total hedge you want to hold at that level, as a % of the main position, not the size of the next order. A ladder of 25 / 60 / 70 builds coverage to 25%, then 60%, then 70%. Above 100% the pair is net opposite.
Ladder Distance % is measured from the main position's current blended average entry, so every DCA fill moves the remaining levels.
Recommended starter configuration
New Hedge Bot forms start blank; templates apply only when you press one.
- Press Moderate Hedge (the recommended starting point), then read the ladder it produced against your real position size. Use Slow Hedge for less hedge coverage.
- Set Auto-attach to Manual only, and attach one position from Attachable positions.
- Add pairs you never want hedged to Never attach to.
- Preview the ladder in the Hedge Simulator before you enable it.
See Hedge stops & exits for how tranches are protected and how the pair closes.
Common mistakes
- Typing order sizes into Size %, building a hedge several times larger than intended.
- Auto-attach on Auto with no Never attach to list: your hand-opened scalps get hedged.
- Coverage near 100%: the paired take profit can become unreachable until a tranche banks profit.
- Expecting a hedge to protect while the account is in One-Way mode.
